VAWZ TRUST is up and running and a committee comprising several veterinarians and other Animal Health workers has been elected by veterinarians attending a meeting on 3rd March 2010. ( See pictiure of committee members standing next to the vehicle). Since then 2 committee meetings have been held on 22nd March 2010 and 8th April 2010 respectively.
Discussions at these meetings centered around the Trust and Trustees, adding an additional Trustee, finalisation of the logo, finalising where the office will be situated, finalising staff members for VAWZ, liason with Division of Field Services, discussions regarding the Animal Welfare Legislation in Zimbabwe, relations with SPCA anmd ZNSPCA, Law Enforcement Agencies, Council of Veterinary Surgeons, Parks and Wildlife Management, as well as relations within the Veterinary Profession. It has been agreed that the organisation will be based at the Wildlife Veterinary Unit, 18 Borrowdale Road, Harare.
